Why Essex Families Choose Oath
We’re based in Essex, regulated locally, and answer the phone ourselves — not through a national call centre.
One dedicated carer
Not a rotating roster. Your loved one builds a relationship with one or two consistent carers — which matters most for dementia.
CQC-regulated & DBS-checked
Every carer is fully vetted, trained to QCF standards, and works under our CQC-regulated provider registration.
Essex-based coordinator
Our senior coordinator lives and works in Essex. They visit you, know your area, and your carer — not a faceless head office.

Common Questions from Essex Families
How quickly can live-in care start?
For most families, a carer is in the home within 7 days of your first call. In urgent cases (hospital discharge, sudden illness), we’ve started care within 48 hours.
What happens when my carer needs a break?
Live-in carers work in rotations — typically 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. We always introduce the relief carer to your loved one before the handover, so there’s continuity. Many families have just two consistent carers who alternate.
How does the pricing work — what’s included?
The weekly price covers the carer’s time, training, CQC-regulated supervision, and our senior coordinator’s monthly home visits. The family provides the carer’s accommodation (a private room) and food. There are no agency fees or commission added on top.
Do you do trial periods?
Yes. Most families start with a 4-week placement. If it isn’t the right fit — for any reason — we’ll match a different carer at no notice penalty.
What if it isn’t working out with the carer?
Tell us. We’ve been doing this long enough to know that personality matching matters more than CV. If the chemistry isn’t there, we re-match — no awkward conversations, no penalty.
Can we get help paying for live-in care?
Possibly. Local Authority Direct Payments, NHS Continuing Healthcare, Attendance Allowance (£300–£480/month), and Section 117 funding can all contribute. Our coordinator will walk you through what your loved one might be entitled to during the free assessment.
